Alyssa graduated with her Juris Doctor in 2019 and was called to the bar in June 2020. She practices family law exclusively, focusing on dispute resolution methods and techniques such as negotiation and collaboration.
Alyssa has personally experienced many types of family dynamics, giving her a deep understanding of how complex families and their issues can get. Her personal and professional experience helps clients navigate difficult challenges with empathy and efficiency, using a child-centred approach.
Alyssa firmly believes that many family legal matters can be resolved by seeking creative solutions to achieve balance when helping families overcome their obstacles.
As a sought-after speaker at law firms and law school classes, Alyssa shares her experiences as an Indigenous lawyer practicing family law.
Other Pursuits
Alyssa often volunteers in other areas that are important to her outside of family law such as with the Assiniboia Residential School Legacy Group and the Manitoba Bar Association Environmental, Energy and Resources section. She is also a member of the Networking and Education Committee at Collaborative Practice Manitoba.
